Format: Bhadraksha looks similar to Rudraksha, but has no natural opening. Rudraksha often has a natural hole. If your grain is crescent and looks dull, it is probably Bhadraksha. Check the texture of the grain. Bhadraksh will have grooves similar to Rudraksha, but they are not very thorny in accented grooves like Rudraksha, which is also on top of it like the human brain. Bhadraksha is lighter in weight than Rudraksha.
Test: Put your grain in water. A Bhadraksha is always floating in the water, while a healthy and rotten Rudraksha is submerged in water due to the weight of the bead.
Second test: Place the Bhadraksha rosary in your right palm and close your fist. Did you feel any vibration? A real rudraksh gives a continuous tremor, like a rapid heartbeat. If you (no one else around you) can feel the slight magnetic stretch of the grain, then your grain is probably Bhadraksh.
