Rudraksha herself is proof of nature that she is very divine. Nature is evidence more precious than scientific. My knowledge is proven by the knowledge that man has acquired from nature. But knowledge of nature is more than knowledge of human reasoning.

Yes, Rudraksh was used by sages in India to determine about water impurity in ancient times.

If Rudraksha is a face and if it goes clockwise, when you place it above the water .. then the water is considered pure… vice versa for impure water.
