How many beads i should wear on the mala ?

Dear Sir,

I became interested in Rudraksha a month ago after visiting an exhibition. I saw many types of beads and read descriptions of Rudraksha Mahima from various Puranas. I was amazed by the spiritual message.

I have been reading online to know more. Many malas have numerous beads; I noticed 108-bead malas. The size and price seem high. Some malas have 54 beads, some 26. How many beads should a person ideally wear to feel the effect?

I visited Bangalore for the exhibition after seeing the newspaper notice. The exhibition was overwhelming, showcasing the power and importance of Rudraksha as described in Puranas.

I bought a few beads at the exhibition. I was recommended 5 beads in a mala, which was made immediately for me.

I feel people above 20 years of age can wear a mala with five Rudraksha beads strung together. Rudraksha mala should have at least three beads to be effective. For children, fewer beads or even one bead can provide benefits.

Malas with higher numbers of beads, such as 108 or fewer, are special because they provide the wearer with ultimate spiritual power and protection. The energy within the beads is generally felt within a few days of wearing.

Smaller malas, like 27 beads, are lighter and easier to wear.

Rudraksha beads are the material from which malas (usually 108 beads) are made. The number of grooves or faces determines their symbolic meaning. A common type has five divisions, representing the five faces of Shiva.

Rudraksha malas can be made with 27, 54, or 108 beads. The number chosen may depend on personal comfort, mala length, or meditation practice.
