A professional kit is used repeatedly, opened in different rooms and transported between locations. Packaging must preserve both the specimens and their identities. A beautiful box with loose samples and unreadable labels is less useful than a modest case whose contents can be counted, protected and replaced accurately.

Fit the case to the contents
Measure the actual stones before finalising compartment size. Provide padding and enough clearance to lift a specimen without forcing it against a divider. Keep the lid from pressing on high points. Use separate protection for softer materials and dry storage for pyrite. The case should close securely, but an airtight claim should not be invented for an ordinary fitted lid.
Give documents their own place
Store identification cards, inventory, layout sheets and care notes in a wallet or protected folder. Mark the document version and kit code on each sheet. Keep paper from rubbing against a rough cavity or becoming trapped under the lid. A large layout board may need a separate sleeve; list that construction clearly instead of showing it as an unexplained styling accessory.

Pack for travel as well as display
Check every cell before closing the case. For parcel shipment, protect the case inside an outer carton and immobilise any separate trays or boards. A shell should travel separately wrapped from the stones. Keep a packing photograph and the item checklist. A finished display photograph helps reassembly but cannot show whether hidden padding or a missing document was included.
Make replacement information honest
Record each material code, count and required fit. Explain that a replacement must match identity and disclosed treatment, while natural pattern can vary. Do not promise permanent refills without a supported supply route. If the composition changes, update the inventory, cards and sales record together. A reliable kit has a clear revision history rather than a collection of gradually substituted, mislabelled specimens.
