Pyrite offers a brass-yellow metallic appearance that differs from the silky gold band of tiger eye. A tumble-polished pyrite pebble may retain small cavities and granular areas. The buyer should establish whether the object is solid mineral material, a coated imitation or a constructed item containing fragments.

Know the proposed object
Pyrite is an iron sulfide with metallic lustre. Rounding and polishing can soften the outline without removing every natural cavity. A cube-shaped crystal, a rough cluster, a resin-bound ornament and a rounded pebble are different products. A photograph of one form should not stand in for another. Ask for the actual construction and whether a binder, coating or backing is present.
Be careful with attractive arrangements
A shell or bowl presentation should list the stone count and the container separately. A shell used in a photograph may be styling rather than an included item. Read both the headline specifications and the detailed composition; conflicting descriptions need resolution before purchase. A new collection should have its own documented arrangement rather than inherit a competitor’s unexplained abundance assortment.

Keep pyrite dry
Avoid soaking, salt baths and persistently damp display. Use a soft dry cloth and inspect occasionally for new powder, cracking or other deterioration. If a specimen changes condition, isolate it from the collection and seek advice; do not wash it repeatedly. A closed travel box should contain dry samples, and packing should not trap wet paper or cloth against the surface.
Use a factual label
Record the identity, construction and batch statement, plus a dry-care instruction. Metallic colour does not prove purity, origin or an absence of stabilisation. Do not grind the stone or place it in drinking water. If a personal prosperity association is part of the buyer’s practice, describe it as symbolism; the physical product cannot guarantee financial outcomes.
