A supreme cosmic energy that appears feminine energy and the dynamic forces that move through the universe is maa Shakti. The goddess who is the creator and is often manifested to destroy demonic forces and restore balance. In Hinduism every god has a Shakti or energy force. So this is the reason that she is worshiped by many Indians. She is called as the mother goddess, a universal source of energy, power and creativity. She is a representative, who you may call for strength, fertility and power. She always identified in a powerful female figure in your bad time.

Shakti is a great goddess who is a sum of every goddess. In the form of Durga, she is a furious warrior who kills Mahisasur and many other evils. In the form of Kali, she is famous for fighting with the head of an army of demons Raktavija. Kali is the another form of Shakti symbolizes the destructive and temporary nature of life. Shakti as Parvati symbolizes fertility, marital happiness, power and asceticism.

In the many forms of Shakti are identified with an animal or bird that acts as vahana. It is also an extension of her power. The lion is the vahana for both Durga and Parvati. She uses her lion as a weapon and for transportation.

Hence we have to remember that to fight our own enemies, pray Devi Durga, for fertility call the mother goddess Parvati and to destroy evil and restore balance, and pray maa Kali.
